TiponTipon

Tipon shows in an impressive way the outstanding technology of the Incas for the distribution and use of water with agricultural terraces, stairways, waterfalls, water channels dug into the stone and beautiful ornamental fountains. The upper part is connected to the road system of the Incas «Qhapaq Ñan» and to a canal supplying water. The different microclimates in the archaeological complex suggest that the site was used as a laboratory for agricultural production. The «Casa Real» and other buildings are built of megalithic stone blocks. A stone wall surrounds the condominium and paved pathways lead to the entrances and exits.
