San Nicolas Lagoon

Laguna San NicolasLake San Nicolás (Laguna San Nicolás), or Pomahuaca, is not fed by a river but gets its water primarily from rain. The amount of water and its expansion are therefore not constant but vary depending on the season. Many birds populate the area surrounding the lake, such as wild ducks, hummingbirds, Andean gulls and coots.
